A few days ago, @mom2summit shared this quote from @BreneBrown:
“Joy comes to us in ordinary moments. We risk missing out when we get too busy chasing down the extraordinary.”
PREACH IT YES AMEN TRUTH.
When I look at my life, especially my career, it may seem extraordinary on the surface. And, don’t get me wrong, it most certainly IS. But the extraordinary, both inside and out, isn’t what gives me life and purpose. My joy is in the ordinary.
The everyday stuff like sipping hot coffee, making clever jokes with my kids, long conversations with loved ones, and snuggling with a warm blanket. These ordinary joys make the extraordinary possible because I am grateful for the mundane. Money, trips, and unique opportunities…it’s all gravy. And fleeting.
